I asked GPT to read between my lines… and this is what it found

Every week, I take a moment to write and reflect. It’s an exercise that helps me process what’s happening and recalibrate my focus. This week, more than ever, I felt the need to do it—February has been a challenging month.

To give you an idea: the kitchen tiles fell off, my AirPods stopped working, my air fryer gave up… and on top of that, I have several personal projects pending, all while staying focused on building my Product Design portfolio.

Despite this storm of responsibilities and minor disasters, surprisingly, I didn’t feel overwhelmed. But I’m not writing this to brag about resilience or to paint everything in a positive light—something truly caught my attention.

I realized that this was reflected in my handwriting: it looked clearer and more organized than usual. And that led me to an interesting question:

Could my handwriting be mirroring the sense of peace and control I feel amidst this everyday chaos?

This observation made me reflect on an idea I had considered before: handwriting as a reflection of emotional state. Although graphology is not an exact science, it is believed that our handwriting can reveal aspects of our personality.

So, I decided to put this to the test and analyze my handwriting with the help of artificial intelligence.

GPT confirmed it… and led me to unexpected insights

When I shared my handwriting, GPT pointed out several patterns: an orderly script, firm strokes, a straight inclination, and a mix of rounded and angular forms. These elements could be interpreted as signs of balance between reason and emotion—determination but also a certain flexibility.

Analyzing these traits, I couldn’t help but notice how they aligned with my way of thinking and working. Without planning it, I was applying lateral thinking: connecting an external concept with both personal and professional experiences, forming unexpected links that enriched my perspective.

This led me to a deeper reflection: the characteristics of my handwriting were not only a reflection of my emotional state but were also closely tied to how I work and solve design problems. My creative process is based on observation and connecting ideas that, at first, may seem unrelated. By analyzing my handwriting, I realized that, in a way, it was visually describing my professional approach—a balance between structure and flexibility, between logic and creativity. This exercise made me see that my way of writing was, in itself, a story about how I think and approach the challenges of each project.

Expecting answers, discovering questions

For me, AI is more than just a tool—it’s an ally in exploring thought. Like a modern-day Watson, it doesn’t just answer questions; it formulates them, helping me discover connections and patterns that might otherwise go unnoticed. Through this interaction, AI has allowed me to get to know myself differently, like a mirror that not only reflects but also asks questions.

This type of interaction is what I find valuable—not AI as a cold tool, but as an agent that helps us ask the right questions, play with ideas, and discover new ways of seeing what we once took for granted.

Maps are drawn through play… and they are full of unplanned paths

This experiment also reminded me of the importance of allowing ourselves space to play. We often become so focused on productivity and tangible results that we forget the need to explore with curiosity. Exploring with a childlike sense of wonder, without the pressure of achieving a specific outcome, is one of the best ways to truly understand a space.

Often, it is through play that we actually begin to understand the rules, identify patterns, and uncover approaches that might otherwise go unnoticed.

Perhaps this is something I need to remind myself of more often: to allow myself to explore without a fixed goal—simply for the joy of discovering.

Maybe this experiment could be an unexpected turning point for you too?

More than an analysis of handwriting itself, I hope this article serves as an invitation to reflect and to play. An opportunity to explore and use AI with the excitement of a child discovering a new toy. And this perspective can help us connect ideas in unexpected ways, better understand our own thought processes, and, above all, challenge ourselves. Imagine what you might discover if you applied this perspective to your own creative process.

Handwriting, like any other form of expression, is a window into how we think and feel. But beyond what it may reveal, what I truly value is the space for exploration it offers—a space where we can question, play with ideas, and find unexpected connections.

The next time I notice a change in my handwriting, my ideas, or my creative approach, I’ll take it as a sign to pause, play, and ask myself: What new perspectives am I discovering right now? Who knows—maybe in that pause, another article will emerge for you to enjoy reading.
